The 31st China control conference was held in Hefei. From July 25 to 27, the 31st China Control Conference (CCC 2012) was held in Hefei. The conference was hosted by the professional committee of control theory of China Society of automation and China Society of systems engineering, and hosted by China University of science and technology. Nearly 1200 delegates attended the meeting, including 4 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of engineering, 42 overseas representatives, 9 representatives from Hong Kong and Taiwan, and 63 consultants and members of the professional committee of control theory. This meeting arranged 102 groups of oral reports (including 41 invited groups), a total of 605 papers, which were exchanged in 17 conference rooms, with a no show rate of 5%. Four groups of paper reports were arranged to be posted, with a total of 505 papers, with a no show rate of 22%

Xin bin and Chen Jie of Beijing University of technology and Li Haitao of Shandong University won the 18th Guan Zhaozhi award of the China control conference, Wang Zeguo, Meng bin, Huang Huang and Wang Yong of Beijing Institute of control engineering won the 6th posting paper award of the China control conference respectively. Kang Yu of China University of science and technology and Zhao Ping of Jinan University won the IEEE CSS Beijing Chapter young author award. Tsinghua University and Beijing University of technology won the best organizational group award. Professor Chen Jie of Beijing University of technology and Professor Wu Min of Central South University won the best organizational individual award
